Teyana Taylor looked effortlessly cool in an all-black ensemble when she graced the red carpet of the King's Trust Global Gala on Thursday in New York City.

The 33-year-old singer and actress showed off an edgy update on classic elegance with a sleek black coat dress that reached down to her knees.

She joined a bevy of famous faces — including surprise performer John Legend — to celebrate the charity established by King Charles and originally named The Prince's Trust.

The songstress put on a striking display on the red carpet by pretending to snap photos with her Judith Leiber Camera Flash, a crystal-covered clutch made to look like a classic film camera, which the designer sells for just under $6,000 on her website.

Teyana, who was seen earlier this year filming Paul Thomas Anderson's next film opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, had unusual draw strings running up to her shoulders and cinching her coat together across her midriff.

The drawstrings emphasize Teyana's tiny waist, while the dress flared out at her hips for an exaggerated hourglass figure.

The buttoning point was just low enough to showcased her cleavage and the black-lace top she wore underneath the coat.

The 5ft5in singer towered on the red carpet thanks to her sky-high black platform boots, which had small silver buckles running all the way to the top.

She added some glittering to her monochromatic ensemble with an undulating wave-like diamond necklace, and she wore enormous gleaming stud earrings.

The Gonna Love Me Singer wore her raven tresses in her now-standard pixie cut.

The King's Trust Global Gala was hosed by the organization's global ambassadors Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful OBE.

The charity was only renamed The King's Trust in November, after Charles ascended to the throne.

The King's Trust helps to educate young people from 11 to 30, while also working to find them jobs and the necessary training.

Among its beneficiaries was The Wire star Idris Elba, who earned a grant from the charity that helped set him on his path to stardom.

'I was awarded £1,500 by The Prince's Trust that gave me my start and my career,' Elba said on Instagram in 2020 in a post celebrating the charity, for which he became a goodwill ambassador.

Teyana has lately been focusing on acting in addition to music making.

She earned rave reviews for her lead role in last year's drama A Thousand And One, and she's one of the stars in the next film from Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

She has been seen on the set of the still-untitled film in recent months with her costar Leonardo DiCaprio, and the film also features Sean Penn, Regina Hall and Anderson's Licorice Pizza leading lady Alana Haim, of the band Haim.

Although no plot details have been released, the film is rumored to be a present-day adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's classic novel Vineland. Anderson previously adapted the famously reclusive writer's later novel Inherent Vice for the film of the same name starring Joaquin Phoenix and Josh Brolin.
